[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] provides expert 24-hour residential specialist neurological care to our residents which are at the heart of everything we do, and we strive to nurture dignity, independence and holistic wellbeing through the specialist care models, therapies and activities we provide.
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is planning to open two new specialist neurological care homes, provisionally scheduled for June (subject to confirmation). One service will be located in Leicester. As part of this development, we are establishing a full multidisciplinary therapy team (MDT) for each service.
Initially, staff will be appointed to a single location only, and there will be no requirement to work across both sites. However, as [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] continues to expand its services, there may be an expectation in the future for staff to support nearby or closely located services, should additional homes open in proximity to their base location.
We are looking for a full time or part time Experienced Occupational Therapist with a special interest in Neurology, A variety of contracted hours is available, up to full-time (37.5 hours per week).
and who has previous experience of rehabilitation and tracheostomy care to join our dynamic team in our Leicester site (LE3 1LF).
About The Role
You will assist with completing rehabilitation and maintenance programmes for residents with varied neurological and progressive conditions, and you will also be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team.
You will also be involved in the supervision of support staff (Therapy Technician, Assistant) and Students. Salary will be calculated depending on experience, in line with role and seniority.
All roles are on-site and in person; remote or hybrid working is not available.
We are specifically looking for candidates who:
- Have experience working in neurological settings (e.g. neurorehabilitation, ABI, complex neurological conditions)
- Are able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team within a specialist neurological service
Please also note that we are currently unable to offer sponsorship, and therefore candidates must already have the right to work in the UK.
We care for individuals with a wide range of neurological conditions, including:
- Neurodegenerative diseases
- Functional Neurological Disorders (FND)
- Traumatic brain injuries
- Frontal temporal dementias
- Long-term and complex care needs
About You
It is great if you are an experienced Occupational Therapist however, your personal qualities are key and should shine through, you must be cheerful, be caring and compassionate that will help with the care we provide each of our residences.
The successful candidate will be able to use evidenced based patient centred approach to assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment plans to support residents’ physical and psychological needs.
You will also work with residents, and team members to identify goals and set person-centred treatment plans.
