Main duties of the job
- Manage a caseload and address a wide range of healthcare needs within a primary care setting.
- Work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure the highest standards of care.
- Contribute to practice planning and decision-making processes.
- Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
- Be available for on-call duties, including telephone queries, emergency home visits, and surgery consultations.
- Carry out procedures safely following best practice and infection control policies.
- Work effectively with individuals in other agencies to meet patients' needs.
About us

We are a well-established, friendly teaching practice with a dedicated team including a senior GP partner, practice nurse, HCA, and admin staff. We have been providing GP services for over 30 years with a patient list of 4500. We are a teaching practice with a GP registrar and situated in a purpose-built health centre.
Job responsibilities
The Salaried GP is a key member of the clinical team, responsible for managing a caseload and addressing a wide range of healthcare needs. The post holder will work collaboratively and contribute to practice planning. Clinical responsibilities include surgery consultations, telephone consultations, home visits, prescribing, and maintaining GMC registration. The role also includes infection control, confidentiality, health & safety, equality & diversity, personal professional development, and quality improvement.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications
- GMC Registration
- Registered on the National Medical Performers List
- Membership of a recognised Medical Defence organisation
- Degree in Medicine
- CCT in General Practice on a GMC approved course
Essential Experience
- Understanding of patient centred approaches
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Competence in management of patient list
- Ability to be a flexible team member
- Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable
- Previous use of SystmOne
- Understanding of current primary care issues
- MRCGP
