Job Summary

As Deputy Director of Nursing and AHPs, you will provide senior professional and strategic direction for nursing and allied health professional (AHP) practice, shaping the standards and culture that define the care we deliver. You will champion safe, effective and person-centred care, drive quality improvement, and uphold the highest professional standards across our services. Working closely with and deputising for the Executive Director of Nursing, Midwifery and AHPs you will influence [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]-wide strategy, assurance and service transformation. Main Duties of the Job

  • Hold line management responsibility and professional oversight for delegated senior professional staff, supporting their performance, development and impact.
  • Manage a delegated element of the Nursing Directorate budget, ensuring effective, transparent and responsible use of resources.

Job Responsibilities

The Deputy Director of Nursing provides senior professional and strategic leadership for nursing and allied health professional (AHP) practice across the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]. The post holder supports the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred care, leads on quality improvement and professional standards, and deputises for the Executive Director of Nursing, Midwifery and AHPs as required. Qualifications

  • Degree in Nursing or health related subject
  • Masters level qualification
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development

Experience

  • Significant experience as a senior nurse/manager in a complex healthcare environment
  • Experience of clinical governance, quality improvement and assurance
  • Experience of leading large-scale service change or improvement programmes
  • Experience of working across organisational and professional boundaries

Skills and Knowledge

  • Highly developed leadership and influencing skills
