Nurse Associate or Practice Nurse

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] are looking for a part-time to full time Practice Nurse to join our growing, dynamic and friendly team. Ideally we would like applicants with Primary Care experience, but will consider training the right candidate. In this instance we would be happy to consider an experienced Nurse Associate, or Registered Nurse and have between 25 and full time hours available.

Pay range is between £15 and £22 an hour, depending on qualification. Permanent contract. Free on-site parking, NHS Pension scheme.

  • Chronic Disease Management - asthma, COPD and diabetes reviews
  • Spirometry
  • Travel Vaccinations
  • ECGs
  • Assist GPs with minor ops and update patient records using SystmOne

Job responsibilities

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] JOB TITLE: PRACTICE NURSE/ NURSE ASSOCIATE. To provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients, as well as providing nursing assistance to the doctors and other members of the primary healthcare team.

  • Offer holistic travel health advice and vaccinations
  • Childhood and adult vaccinations under patient group directions
  • Well person clinics and health promotion programmes
  • Assess and manage minor illness
  • Cervical cytology screening
  • Venepuncture
  • Wound management including Doppler and compression bandaging
  • Chronic disease management (Asthma/COPD/Diabetes)
  • Suture removal
  • ECGs
  • Administer injections
  • Flu and COVID vaccination clinics
  • Chaperoning
  • Anaphylaxis recognition and management
  • CPR
  • Fitting/removal of 24hr ambulatory blood pressure monitor
  • Obtain informed consent
  • Infection control and stock maintenance

Person Specification

Essential

  • RGN Registered Nurse OR Nurse Associate
  • Ability to provide quality care
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team
  • Good time keeping skills
  • Willingness to learn and adapt

Desirable

  • Cervical smear taker
  • Wound management including compression bandaging
  • Long term condition management diploma
  • Experience of working in Primary Care
  • Experience of using SystmOne
