International Health, Safety & Compliance Manager

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking an International Health, Safety & Compliance Manager to provide strategic leadership, oversight, and accountability across the international office portfolio relating to Workplace Health and Safety. This role does not include direct line management but requires strong communication skills to influence global stakeholders.

The Role

The Health, Safety and Workplace Compliance Manager (HSWCM) will define, implement, and continuously improve health and safety standards, ensuring a consistent, high-quality approach across all regions. This includes reviewing Enterprise standards and adapting them to regional needs and local legislative requirements. The role requires proactive leadership and collaboration with global Workplace, Facilities, Technology, Security, and Risk teams.

Duties

  • Leadership & Global Governance: Lead development and governance of global H&S strategy; build cross-functional alignment; prepare board-level reports.
  • Suppliers, Contractors & Landlords: Oversee H&S obligations for leased offices; manage audits and vendor performance.
  • Legal & Compliance: Maintain global compliance; develop policies; ensure adherence to statutory requirements.
  • Workplace Safety & Operational Standards: Deliver safe, compliant workplaces; embed safety in hybrid models and daily operations.
  • Project & Change Management: Support H&S aspects of refurbishments, relocations, and construction; lead risk assessments and contractor compliance.
  • Risk Management: Contribute to enterprise risk frameworks; develop training and awareness; ensure Business Continuity Plans include safety.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Extensive experience in corporate Health & Safety management, ideally global/multi-site.
  • Strong understanding of international H&S legislation and compliance frameworks.
  • Proven experience with complex hybrid workplace environments.
  • Demonstrable incident investigation, risk assessment, safety audit, and compliance experience.
  • Experience supporting workplace refurbishments and facilities safety programmes.
  • Financial acumen related to safety programmes and contractor oversight.
  • Excellent communication and cross-cultural influencing skills.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, CRSP, CSP, OSHA) essential.
