Principal Teacher of Biology, Stromness Academy

This is a permanent, full-time position (35 hours per week) with a salary of £62,868 per year plus Distant Islands Allowance. The role involves teaching Biology across senior phase courses and Science in S1-3, along with strategic leadership of the department.
About the Role
As Principal Teacher, you will lead, manage and support colleagues, providing strategic direction and guidance. You will be responsible for self-evaluation of the department, development of a departmental improvement plan, and contributing to whole school improvement. The role reports to the Head Teacher.

Requirements
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience
- Commitment to high-quality learning and teaching
- Ability to teach Biology across senior phase and Science in S1-3
- Leadership and strategic planning skills

Additional Information
- Salary: £62,868 per year plus Distant Islands Allowance
- Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
- Post is a regulated role with children – PVG membership required
