Key Responsibilities

  • You take end-to-end ownership of OPAL implementation projects at clients, from initiation to go live, including managing risks and dependencies
  • Act as a hands-on team leader, mentoring and developing your team members and shaping the team
  • Manage client satisfaction and retention of our UK client base
  • Act as a subject matter expert in the advice journey, supporting the sales team with technical credibility and practitioner insight, essentially being commercial support lead for the UK & Ireland
  • Translate advisor and client needs into clear demonstrations of how our goals-based financial planning technology (OPAL) addresses regulatory, operational, and client engagement challenges
  • Prepare and deliver tailored product demonstrations, proposals, and responses to RFPs/RFIs, ensuring alignment with FCA Consumer Duty and suitability requirements.
  • Provide thought leadership on trends in financial advice, risk profiling, investment suitability, and client engagement, positioning the firm as a trusted partner
  • Design client workshops, pilots, and proof-of-concept engagements
  • Act as the bridge between sales, product, and client teams by feeding back adviser-centric insights into product development

What do we have to offer?

As Head of UK clients, you’ll work closely with your team in the UK office, our UK Sales Director, and colleagues based in our London and Dutch offices. You’ll have frequent direct contact with clients and prospects, primarily UK wealth managers and banks, bringing their business to a next level with our OPAL solution.

OPAL is our advanced Goal-Based Financial Planning tool, designed to help UK financial advisors translate client goals into optimal investment strategies. It incorporates personal ambitions, cash flow projections, and risk appetite, while enabling advisors to monitor progress over time. Its built-in economic scenario generator allows advisors to stress-test plans across a range of market conditions.

In this role, you manage a team helping clients enhance their advisory processes using OPAL, and support the integration of our APIs into their digital platforms, such as apps and websites. You are responsible for client retention, employee development and wellbeing, and supporting to expand OPAL’s reach by winning new clients and introducing the solution into untapped areas of the UK financial advisory landscape. You’ll also play a key role in translating client needs into product features, contributing to the ongoing innovation and optimization of OPAL.

Your week might look like this: Monday, deliver a training session at a bank on “How to Improve Business Success with Goal-Based Planning using OPAL”. Tuesday, draft an implementation plan for onboarding a new OPAL client and participate in the Global Wealth Solutions management meeting. Wednesday, contribute to a marketing campaign and join a refinement session for upcoming OPAL features. Thursday, align with your team on planning and activities for clients and prospects. Friday, accompany the UK Sales Director to meet a prospective client.

You bring:

  • A degree in Business, Finance, Econometrics or an exact science, with a strong interest in financial markets
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience within a regulated financial advice environment
  • Solid knowledge of: Cashflow modelling, Portfolio construction, UK regulatory and compliance processes
  • Proven experience managing and developing teams of professionals
  • A background at a leading UK or global bank, wealth manager or advice‑led institution
  • Strong understanding of advice technology, financial planning tools and digital client portals
  • Practical experience working with APIs, data integrations and financial modelling
  • The ability to translate complex financial planning methodologies (such as stochastic scenario analysis and goals‑based planning) into clear, client‑focused value propositions
  • Substantial experience in client‑facing roles and project management
  • A Level 4 RDR qualification or experience as a former financial adviser (highly beneficial)
  • Full professional fluency in English (required)
