Consumer PR & Communications Manager

The role involves generating story ideas, landing coverage in tabloids and lifestyle press, and turning data into compelling narratives.

Consumer PR

  • Generate a constant pipeline of campaign ideas, news hijacks, data stories, and PR stunts.
  • Land stories in tabloids (The Sun, Daily Mail, The Mirror), lifestyle press (Good Housekeeping, Stylist, Metro), and digital native outlets (Mumsnet, The Tab, Indy100).
  • Strategically execute PR stunts with a hook, second life on social, and clear path to reach.
  • Turn the Founder into a relatable, quotable, trusted expert on home buying via podcasts, daytime TV, and consumer radio.
  • Transform boring mortgage data into front-page splashes.

Corporate & Trade PR

  • Maintain relationships with key property and mortgage trade titles.
  • Write all-hands updates and celebrate consumer wins internally.
  • Draft announcements for fundraising, hiring, and milestones, handling business press.

Skill and Experience

  • Deep knowledge of PR industry (reads PR Week, listens to PR podcasts).
  • Constant generation of creative concepts.
  • Ability to push boundaries without crossing the line.
  • Focus on mass reach through wit, insight, and timing rather than cheap shock value.
  • Willingness to challenge and improve briefs.
  • Hands-on execution: writing press releases, pitching journalists, chasing follow-ups, sharing wins.
