Job Summary

For over 35 years, millions of patients have trusted [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] with their eye care. We are seeking to recruit an IT Technician to be based in our Edgbaston office. This will be a mobile role, which will require travel throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to Hospitals/Clinics or company locations to provide IT support
  • Install, configure, and maintain PCs, laptops, printers, mobile devices, networking equipment, software applications
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
  • Perform system upgrades and equipment replacements
  • Set up user accounts, email, and security permissions
  • Support Wi-Fi and basic network troubleshooting
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation
  • Provide remote support when required
  • Ensure compliance with company IT and security policies
  • Manage stock, tools, and spare equipment
  • Deliver excellent customer service and communicate technical issues clearly

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, hardware diagnostics and repair, basic networking (TCP/IP, routers, switches, Wi-Fi)
  • Ability to troubleshoot independently
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Time management and organisational skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Valid UK Passport
  • Ability to travel regularly

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Network+
  • Microsoft certifications
  • Experience in field service or helpdesk support
