Product Owner (Group Benefits)

Location: Remote | Contract Length: 6-9 Months | Sector: Life Insurance

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage product backlog, prioritisation, and user story development.
  • Partner closely with Engineering teams to deliver enrolment and eligibility solutions.
  • Work across external partner integrations and benefits administration platforms.
  • Support API integration activities, testing, troubleshooting, and delivery coordination.
  • Drive alignment between business, product, and technology stakeholders.
  • Operate strategically while remaining heavily involved in day-to-day delivery activities.

Required Experience

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner within Group Benefits, Insurance, or Benefits Administration environments.
  • Strong knowledge of: Group Benefits enrolment, Eligibility rules and workflows, Evidence of Insurability (EOI), Claims status processes, Plan build and benefits configuration.
  • Experience working with employee/member enrolment data and benefits platforms.
  • Understanding of how policy and plan data integrates into systems such as ADP or similar HRIS platforms.
  • Experience working with API integrations and tools such as Postman.
  • Ability to work closely with development teams in Agile delivery environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across both business and technical teams.

Preferred Background

  • Experience within Insurance, Financial Services, or other regulated industries.
  • Strong understanding of benefits administration and platform integration ecosystems.
