About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer in Hotels Acquisition at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], you will build scalable backend systems and platforms that ingest, process and distribute hotel inventory across [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]. We have AWS-hosted high-performance databases that contain billions of items. This is a backend and platform focused role with strong emphasis on distributed systems, cloud native technologies, operational excellence and high performance at scale.

What you’ll be doing day to day

The Hotels Acquisition team builds platforms that power hotel choice, availability and pricing. You will work on systems supporting supplier connectivity, inventory acquisition, pricing and availability freshness, cache optimisation and search distribution. Our mission is to deliver the best hotel choice, availability and value through scalable and intelligent acquisition platforms.

Skills and Experience

  • Building scalable backend systems and distributed services
  • Designing and operating cloud native platforms
  • Working with large scale and data intensive applications
  • Messaging infrastructure, streaming technologies and event driven architectures
  • Building reliable and observable production systems
  • Working with APIs, integrations and external suppliers
  • Solving scalability, latency and operational resilience challenges
  • Experience with .NET, C#, AWS, Kubernetes, APIs, observability tooling

Interview Process

After a call with Talent Acquisition, a 3-stage interview process on Microsoft Teams: Hiring Manager meet & greet (30 min), Behavioural & ways of working (60 min), Tech Pairing & System Design (90 min). Reasonable adjustments available.

Ways of Working

Full-time 37.5 hours per week with flexible hours and core hours 10am-4pm. Hybrid working: one day in the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] office in Manchester City Centre every two weeks, with more welcome.
