Specialist Learning Support Teacher

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist and support individual pupils on the SEND register by planning and preparing lessons, assessing pupil progress and next steps.
  • Support students on the SEND register as required, including those with EHCPs.

About You

To be considered, you must have:

  • Extensive experience working with children with Down Syndrome
  • Experience working with children in Key Stage 2
  • Experience with communication and interaction difficulties
  • Fluency in Makaton or sign-a-long
  • Knowledge of effective strategies for communication and interaction difficulties
  • Understanding of social, cultural and physical needs of pupils
  • Interest in how children learn and behave
  • Ability to provide appropriate role models of behaviour
  • Genuine care for children, especially those with learning and behavioural challenges
