Assistant Psychologist

Job Summary

Are you looking for the next step in your career? Then join Spring Wood Lodge as an Assistant Psychologist where you will work with a dedicated team to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable women. You will support service users with personality disorder, mood disorder, self-harming behaviours, trauma, and more. Under supervision of the Lead Psychologist, assist with assessments, formulations, and treatments. Also assist with clinical administration, audits, statistics, research, teaching, and project work.

Main Duties

  • Contributing to psychological assessments and formulations
  • Facilitating psychological interventions on a 1:1 and group basis
  • Assisting in designing and delivering specialist training
  • Assisting with reflective practice for staff
  • Maintaining clinical databases
  • Completing outcome measures
  • Writing reports for various audiences
  • Service evaluation and research tasks
  • Undertaking clinically relevant audits

Requirements

  • Minimum 2:1 honours degree in Psychology (BPS accredited)
  • At least 6 months experience as an Assistant Psychologist in forensic/mental health setting
  • Experience conducting psychometrics
  • Experience with service users who have personality disorder (advantage)
  • Experience maintaining office systems and administration tasks
  • Creative thinking, clinical efficacy, commitment to evidence-based models
  • Strong organisation, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Meet HCPC and BPS professional practice standards
