TPD for Early Years and Integrated Care
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Training Programme Director (TPD) for Early Years and Integrated Care. The closing date is 21 May 2026. Salary: £118,665 a year pro rata. Contract: Fixed term (10 months), Part-time. Location: East of England (CB21 5XB).
Job summary
The postholder will have a demonstrable working knowledge of the aims and objectives of Integrated Care and NHS General Dental Practice. They will act as a point of support for Educational Supervisors and IC Dentists involved with the Integrated Care Programme and will contribute to training and delivery of educational programmes relevant to Integrated Care. The postholder will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as outstanding negotiation skills and the ability to motivate others. Additional GP01 responsibilities in accordance with the needs of the Postgraduate Dental Dean.
Main duties of the job
The Training Programme Director for Integrated Care / Early Years is primarily responsible for the commissioning, provision of, and quality managing the Integrated Care Programme which includes many elements of Dental Early Years training. The TPD will be accountable to the Postgraduate Dental Dean under the direction of the Associate Postgraduate Dean for the discharge of his/her responsibilities. The TPD will be instrumental in developing the Integrated Care programme (ICP).

Job responsibilities
- Monitor the professional and educational development of IC Dentists and report to the Postgraduate Dental Dean or their nominee
- Act as organiser of the Integrated Care Programme
- Advise on IC Satisfactory Completion and certification of ICDs and participate in the RCP process
- Organise and lead the assigned Integrated Care Programme Training Scheme
- Monitor the professional development of Integrated Care Dentists
- Liaise with Educational Supervisors (ESs) regarding IC dentists progress
- Provide career information and support to IC Dentists
- Contribute to and lead on projects delegated by the Associate Dean and Postgraduate Dental Dean
- Assist with recruitment and selection of Educational Supervisors and training practices
- Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information
- Make decisions and implement policies
Person Specification
Experience
Essential: Evidence of participation in clinical audit and peer review; Teaching experience; Demonstrated ability to plan strategically.
Desirable: Experience of working with dentists in difficulty.
Skills and Knowledge
Essential: Ability to monitor professional and educational development of other dentists; Demonstrable understanding of dental career pathways; Ability to assess and progress learning.
Desirable: Training in Coaching and mentoring; Certificate in Clinical Education.
Qualifications
Essential: Dental Qualification; Significant experience as a registered dental practitioner; GDC registration.
Desirable: PG Certification.
