Job Summary

Band 6 Rotational Occupational Therapist at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]. Rotates through acute inpatient specialties including Emergency Department & Acute Medicine, Medical Rehabilitation & Frailty, Respiratory Medicine & Critical Care, Stroke & Neurology, Trauma & Orthopaedics, Burns and Hand Therapy.

Main Duties

  • Provide occupational therapy assessment and intervention in acute settings.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Supervise students, junior staff and therapy assistants.
  • Participate in service improvement and leadership development.
  • Engage in in-service training and CPD.

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications

  • Essential: BSc or Diploma in OT, HCPC Registration, Evidence of ongoing CPD
  • Desirable: RCOT Registration

Experience

  • Essential: Postgraduate experience in acute and rehabilitation Physical Settings, Recent NHS experience, Documented CPD
  • Desirable: Supervision of junior/support staff, Community experience, Student supervision

Skills and Knowledge

  • Essential: Broad knowledge of OT best practice, Application of OT process in acute rehab, Clinical governance, Professional ethics, Time management, Health and safety
  • Desirable: Standardised assessments, Training and presentation skills

Personal Qualities

  • Essential: Team working, Client-centred approach, Reflective practice, Compliance with Moving and Handling regulations
  • Desirable: Ability to positively influence others
