Senior Data Consultant

This role focuses on strategic data consulting and advisory services, covering Data & AI Strategy, Data Operating Models, Data Governance & Management, and Advanced Analytics & AI. The ideal candidate will shape propositions, support sales, deliver projects, and lead teams across multiple sectors.
The team you'll be working with
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Consultant (Senior Manager level) to join our dynamic team. This role will focus on providing strategic data consulting and advisory services to our clients, with experience across the following areas:
- Data & AI Strategy
- Data Operating Models
- Data Governance & Management
- Advanced Analytics & AI
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data consulting, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead and mentor junior team members. You will be expected to shape propositions, support sales activities, deliver client projects, lead teams and manage cross-functional client staff and stakeholders in a variety of contexts, covering multiple sectors, including telecoms and media, banking, insurance, retail, energy & utilities, and public sector. This role is London based but may involve travel within the UK and Europe and will require flexibility.
What you'll be doing
- Lead and deliver data consulting projects, including data strategy development, Data Operating Models, and data literacy programmes.
- Advise clients on best practices for data management, data quality, and data governance.
- Translate complex data opportunities into clear business outcomes
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and translate them into data solutions.
- Lead high-performing teams from multiple locations to design and implement innovative solutions
- Support pre-sales activities.
- Provide thought leadership and stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data and analytics.
- Define and develop Data & AI frameworks and methodologies to grow our practice and ensure scalable, repeatable delivery.
Mentor and support junior consultants, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
What experience you'll bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Currently working in a major Management Consulting firm, and/or in industry but having a Management Consulting background and proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation.
- 8+ years of experience in data consulting, data strategy, or a related role.
- Deep understanding of trends in data governance, data platforms, cloud technologies, AI/ML, and analytics
- Experience of leading and delivering Data & AI projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
- Data-oriented personality, great communication skills, and an excellent eye for detail.
- Experience with consulting-led sales.
