Main Purpose of Job

To provide and maintain a high standard of person-centred care, enhancing and maximising the Patrons’ quality of life in a supportive and friendly environment. To work closely and cooperatively with colleagues as a Team Member.

Main Responsibilities

To maintain a high standard of care and comfort for Patrons, in line with their individual care plans.

Main Duties

• At the start of each shift, read the Communication Book for an update on what is happening in the home and share appropriate information with other members of staff.
• Assist Patrons as necessary with all tasks of daily living including, mobility, dressing, bathing, toileting, nutrition and hydration.
• Answer the nurse call, door and telephone promptly, courteously and efficiently.
• Keep Patrons’ care plans updated, acting as keyworker for named Patrons. Electronically document care given, using QR codes, to keep an accurate record of Patrons’ wellbeing.
• Report breakages/damage to Patrons’ personal items, company property and equipment as well as maintenance issues to management.
• Assist Patrons with impaired mobility and other physical disabilities, including incontinence.
• Help promote Patrons’ social activity within the Home and assist them to participate in chosen activities in the local community.
