Admissions Apprentice

  • Salary: £18,540 - £23,556 per year

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] for an Admissions Apprentice to provide administrative and customer service support within the Admissions team, helping prospective learners progress smoothly from enquiry through to enrolment. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, good attention to detail, strong organisational skills and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first line support to prospective students, parents/carers and other stakeholders via email, telephone and in person.
  • Support the management of enquiries and applications for 16-19, adult and higher-level provision.
  • Assist applicants throughout the admissions journey, ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Respond to routine admissions queries accurately and professionally.
  • Support the administration of admissions processes, including data entry, record keeping and document management.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records in line with College processes and data protection requirements.
  • Assist with appointment scheduling, interviews, enrolment events and open days.
  • Prepare standard correspondence and communications under supervision.
  • Use College systems and CRM platforms to update and track applicant progress.
  • Support process improvements to enhance efficiency and applicant experience.
  • Follow College policies, procedures and compliance requirements always.
  • Provide general administrative support to the wider Admissions and Marketing teams as required.
  • Support enrolment activity during peak periods, including evenings where necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the College to support recruitment targets.
  • Work towards successful completion of the Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship.
  • Attend all off-the-job training, assessments and review meetings.
  • Apply learning from training to day-to-day work activities.
  • Demonstrate continual development of professional skills and behaviours.

Is This You?

Essential

  • Interest in administration, customer service or business operations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Basic IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritise tasks.
  • GCSE English and Maths (or willingness to work towards if required).

Desirable

  • Previous experience in an administrative or customer-facing role.
  • Interest in education, training or student services.
  • Confidence working with digital systems or databases.
