Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of a Practice Nurse or Nursing Associate at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]. This role is part time working 3 days a week (Tuesdays and Fridays plus one other day). Training can be discussed at interview for areas not yet qualified.

Main Duties of the Job

We are a busy and friendly training surgery where patient care is at the centre. The candidate will deliver a high standard of patient care within General Practice, displaying autonomous clinical skills within safe boundaries, liaising with GPs and nursing team.

Job Responsibilities

• Cervical Sample taking
• Wound care / ulcer care / Doppler
• Removal of Sutures
• Travel Clinic - Advice and Vaccinations
• ECGs
• Asthma Management / Peak Flow Readings / Spirometry
• Venepuncture
• Routine Immunisations / Childhood Immunisations
• Contraceptive services
• Record accurate consultation data
• Request pathology tests
• Refer patients to other services
• Chaperone patients
• Management of Long Term Conditions (Diabetes, Asthma/COPD)
• Follow clinical protocols
• Contribute to QOF and Locally Commissioned Services
• Follow PGDs for vaccinations
• Administrative duties (stock checks, fridge checks)
• Promote health and wellbeing
• Maintain stock and cleanliness
• Order stock and vaccinations
• Audit checks of vaccines and sterile supplies
• Participate in practice meetings and training
• Undertake home visits
• Participate in flu vaccination clinics

Person Specification

Experience: Essential: Nursing (3 years). Desirable: General Practice (3 years).

Qualifications: Essential: NMC, Driving Licence. Desirable: Qualified in Phlebotomy.
