Salaried GP

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Group is seeking an enthusiastic Salaried GP to join their team for 6-8 sessions per week. The role involves managing a caseload in a primary care setting, including face-to-face, telephone, and home visit consultations, as well as administrative duties and contributing to practice development.

Main Duties of the Job

As a key member of the Practice, you will manage a case load, dealing with a wide range of presenting health care needs in a primary care setting. The practice offers a variety of appointment options: face-to-face (15 minutes), telephone (10 minutes) and home visits (30 minutes), as well as the opportunity to cover dedicated clinics such as diabetes should you have a specialist interest. The post holder will work with clinical colleagues to ensure the highest standards of care are provided for all registered and temporary patients. You are expected to sign repeat prescriptions and deal with queries and re-authorisation of repeat medication, adhere to the practice/ICB formulary, and complete administrative tasks including filing of blood results and letters.

Responsibilities

  • Make professionally autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems
  • Receive patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems and assess their health care needs
  • Consult with patients in surgery, at home visits, via telephone or online consultations
  • Undertake triage calls and visits, checking and signing repeat prescriptions
  • Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
  • Develop care plans for health in consultation with patients
  • Provide counselling and health education
  • Admit or discharge patients to and from caseload and refer to other care providers
  • Comply with clinical governance and practice policies
  • Record clear consultation notes and use read codes appropriately
  • Contribute to QOF, IIF, DES & PCN achievements
  • Participate in audits and practice activity reporting
