Salary: £39,959 to £48,117 a year

Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated practitioner to join Leeds Childrens and Young Persons Mental Health Service. The post holder will work as part of the CORE team, a dynamic and busy multidisciplinary team. CORE stands for: Children & Young People, Outreach & Home treatment, Risk assessment & Formulation, Enhanced Support. We are a citywide team from a range of backgrounds, including psychiatry, mental health and paediatric nursing, psychology and social work. We provide specialist assessment and formulation and intervention for young people up to the age of 18 and their families. We are committed to keeping the needs of the children and young people we see at the heart of what we deliver. The team actively participates in clinical and other forms of supervision. To complement our existing multidisciplinary team, we are seeking either a registered Mental Health Nurse, or individual with relevant professional registration who has previous experience of working with Children and Young People with risk and complex mental health needs. You will work independently and with the wider team to support young people and their families. Main Duties of the Job

  • Working with children and young people and their families within their homes and a clinic setting. The role is patient facing and you will be expected to work from within a base. Working as part of an MDT, attending team meetings, formulation and case discussion and working collaboratively with other agencies.
  • Taking the role of duty clinician, triaging referrals and responding to calls where needed. Training will be provided.
  • Participate in the delivery of a range of evidence-based interventions mental health focussed interventions and actively support leadership
  • Participate and support within the assessment clinic and contribute to the assessment and planning implementation and evaluation of care for young people.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships within wider CYPMHS and external agencies
  • Participate in reflective practice and continuous professional development.
