Domestic Assistant
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Domestic Assistant at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport. This is a part-time, permanent position (20 hours/week, 17:00-21:00 Mon-Fri) with a salary of £25,272 per annum pro rata.

We currently have Vacancies for Domestic Assistants to work as part of the Domestic Team at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] at Stepping Hill Hospital. We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated people to join our current 204 strong team, who have a passion for delivering a quality cleaning/ decontamination service.
As this is a public facing service we are seeking individuals who enjoy customer interaction and have the ability to react to a changing and sometimes challenging environment. Our service covers wards, department and office areas across the site.
We use all the latest cleaning equipment and materials. We offer further development via apprenticeships/ NVQ opportunities.

Main duties of the job
- To work as part of the FM operational team, responsible for providing a comprehensive support service in the hospital environment.
- Carrying out Facilities Management functions, primarily domestic cleaning within the hospital environment, including clinical and patient areas such as emergency department, Theatres, wards, non-clinical areas.
- Provide a high quality responsive, efficient and effective patient support service to wards and departments within [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] acting in a caring and professional manner and ensuring we meet the National Cleaning Standards required.

Education & Qualifications
Desirable:
- Good standard of general education
- NVQ 1 in cleaning, customer and support services or equivalent experience
Knowledge
Essential:
- Awareness of safe working practices
- Awareness of different cleaning methods
- Good personal hygiene practices
- Ability to follow a set of instructions / programme of work.
Desirable:
- Use of cleaning equipment including vacuums, steam cleaners, buffing machines, scrubber driers, carpet cleaning machines.
- Understand how to prevent the spread of infections.
- Safe use of cleaning chemicals.
Experience
Desirable:
- Previous experience in similar working environment
