Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP Director – Data to lead the enterprise-wide data strategy, governance, and architecture across SAP and hybrid landscapes. This role is responsible for driving data transformation initiatives, enabling high-quality, trusted, and scalable data foundations that support analytics, AI/ML, and core SAP business processes.

The Director will oversee SAP data platforms, master data management, data governance frameworks, and integration across SAP S/4HANA and surrounding systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Strategy & Leadership: Define and lead the enterprise SAP data strategy, aligned with digital transformation goals; establish scalable data architecture framework across SAP and non-SAP systems; drive adoption of data-driven decision-making.
  • SAP Data Architecture & Platforms: Oversee design and implementation of SAP data solutions including SAP S/4HANA data models, SAP BW/4HANA or SAP Datasphere, SAP Data Services / SAP Integration Suite, SAP Master Data Governance (MDG); ensure seamless integration with external cloud data lakes, data warehouses, APIs.
  • Data Governance & Quality: Establish enterprise-wide data governance frameworks (policies, standards, ownership models); drive master data management strategy across domains (customer, vendor, product, finance); ensure data quality, consistency, lineage, and regulatory compliance (GDPR).
  • Analytics & Enablement: Enable advanced analytics capabilities using SAP and cloud technologies; partner with BI teams to support reporting; support AI/ML initiatives through trusted data foundations.
  • Program & Stakeholder Management: Lead large-scale SAP data transformation programs; manage cross-functional teams; collaborate with CIO, CDO, business leaders; oversee budgets, roadmaps, delivery governance.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Evaluate emerging SAP data technologies; drive modernization from legacy SAP BW to cloud-based ecosystems; promote automation and data self-service.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 12–20+ years of IT experience with strong focus on SAP data and analytics ecosystems.
  • Proven leadership in SAP data architecture or enterprise data leadership roles.
  • Strong expertise in SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA or SAP Datasphere, SAP MDG, SAP Data Services/Integration tools.
  • Experience designing enterprise data lakes/cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP preferred).
  • Strong understanding of data governance, MDM, data quality frameworks.
  • Experience leading large-scale SAP transformation or S/4HANA programs.
  • Strong integration knowledge across SAP and non-SAP systems (APIs, ETL, middleware).
