Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP MM (Materials Management) & Purchasing Consultant to support a key client on a 12-month contract based in Leicestershire. This role will play a critical part in delivering procurement and purchasing enhancements within an SAP environment, with opportunities to collaborate across international teams in Ireland and potentially Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support SAP MM and Purchasing configuration, design, and implementation activities
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather and translate procurement and purchasing requirements into SAP solutions
- Optimize end-to-end procurement processes, including requisitioning, purchasing, inventory management, and vendor management
- Configure and support core purchasing functions such as purchase requisitions, purchase orders, contracts, scheduling agreements, and release strategies
- Manage pricing procedures, condition types, and vendor master data within SAP
- Provide functional expertise across the full SAP MM lifecycle, including integration with other SAP modules (e.g., FI, SD, WM)
- Support system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and deployment activities
- Deliver user training and documentation where required
- Troubleshoot and resolve SAP MM and purchasing-related issues in a timely manner
- Collaborate with offshore and nearshore teams, including travel to Ireland and Singapore as needed
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as an SAP MM & Purchasing Consultant in complex project environments
- Strong hands-on configuration experience in SAP MM, particularly in purchasing processes
- Solid understanding of procurement, sourcing, and purchasing lifecycles
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of purchasing configuration, including release strategies and pricing procedures
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
