PCN – Pharmacy Technician
This role is for a Pharmacy Technician to join the Chesterfield and Dronfield Primary Care Network's pharmacy team. The post holder will work across Dronfield practices and care home services, delivering clinical pharmacy services including medicines management, repeat prescribing, structured medication reviews, and patient counseling. The ideal candidate is a registered pharmacy technician with an interest in developing the role within primary care. The position is permanent, part-time (up to 30 hours/week), with flexible working and NHS pension.

Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will work within their clinical competencies as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting clinical pharmacists and practice colleagues to deliver high quality medicines management. This includes contributing to medicines optimisation at transfer of care, safer prescribing systems, clinical medicines management, technical medication reviews, and aspects of structured medication and long term condition reviews. The role also supports management of repeat prescription authorisations and reauthorisations in line with agreed protocols.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Essential: Mandatory registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as pharmacy technician
- Desirable: Membership Royal Pharmaceutical Society, Foundation training in primary care
Experience
- Desirable: Experience as a qualified, registered pharmacy technician in primary care, community or hospital pharmacy
Skills and Knowledge
- Essential: Comprehensive understanding of the role, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, knowledge of IT systems, ability to work under pressure, recognise limitations
- Desirable: Experience in primary care, therapeutic knowledge, understanding of GP and PCN relationships
