Job Description

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a compassionate Senior Care Assistant to deliver exceptional care. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care while supporting the wider clinical team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering compassionate personal care, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring patients’ dignity and comfort.
  • Carrying out clinical tasks including observations, wound care, specimen collection, catheter and stoma care, and monitoring patients’ wellbeing.
  • Working closely with registered nurses to implement care plans, contribute to safe patient flow, and maintain accurate documentation. Supervising and supporting junior healthcare assistants.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean clinical environment, following infection prevention procedures, and managing equipment and supplies.
  • Communicating effectively with patients, families, and colleagues, promoting independence, and upholding confidentiality and dignity.
  • Contributing to health promotion activities and supporting patients with long-term conditions, frailty, and end-of-life care.

Minimum Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Minimum 6 months of paid UK care experience within the last 3 years in a Senior Healthcare Assistant role.
  • Proven experience managing a shift in a care home setting (Required).
  • SVQ Level 3 qualification with proven experience in medication administration.
  • Registration: Applicants in Scotland require SSSC registration.
  • Knowledge of care equipment and moving & handling.
  • Compassion, teamwork, flexibility, and a professional approach.
