What You’ll Do

• Provide high-quality, person-centred care while supporting the wider clinical team. The role involves delivering compassionate personal care, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring patients’ dignity and comfort at all times.
• You will carry out a range of clinical tasks in line with your training and competency, including taking observations, supporting wound care, collecting specimens, assisting with catheter and stoma care, and contributing to ongoing monitoring of patients’ physical and emotional wellbeing.
• You will work closely with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to implement care plans, contribute to safe patient flow, and maintain accurate documentation. The role includes supervising and supporting junior healthcare assistants, helping with their induction, and promoting high standards of practice across the team.
• A key part of the position is maintaining a safe and clean clinical environment, following infection-prevention procedures, reporting concerns promptly, and ensuring equipment and supplies are well managed. You will communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues, offering reassurance, promoting independence, and upholding confidentiality, equality, and dignity at all times.
• You will also contribute to health-promotion activities and support patients with long-term conditions, frailty, and end-of-life care, ensuring a compassionate and respectful approach throughout.

Minimum Requirements

• Right to work in the UK.
• A minimum 6 months of paid UK care experience within the last 3 years, working in a Senior Healthcare Assistant role.
• Proven experience managing a shift in a care home setting (Required)
• SVQ LEVEL 3 Qualification with proven experience in medication administration
• Registration: Applicants in Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland will require the relevant registration e.g., SSSC, SCW, NISSC (not applicable in England).
• Skills: Knowledge of care equipment and moving & handling.
• Qualities: Compassion, teamwork, flexibility, and a professional approach.
