About the Role
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is looking for an experienced Veterinary Clinical Pathologist to join our established team of pathologists. This is an opportunity to work across species, influence how a national diagnostic service evolves, and be part of an independent laboratory where clinical judgement still matters.
You can be based at one of our UK laboratories or work remotely, with flexibility built around clinical delivery rather than rigid schedules.

We have specialist cytology and histopathology teams and work with all species, with a strong companion animal focus. Responsibilities
- Interpretation of clinical pathology and laboratory data to provide clear, actionable diagnostic reports
- Evaluation and reporting of cytology samples
- Direct liaison with submitting veterinary practices to ensure optimal test selection and sample quality
- Working closely with laboratory technical teams to maintain and improve diagnostic standards
- Participation in clinical discussions, audits, team meetings, and service development
- Contribution to training, CPD activity, and internal knowledge sharing
- Supporting client‑facing activity including presentations, newsletters, or clinical materials
Requirements
Essential:
- Demonstrable experience in diagnostic veterinary clinical pathology
- Strong communication skills and a supportive, practice‑focused approach
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team
Desirable:
- Postgraduate qualification in Veterinary Pathology
- FRCPath membership, or board certification (or eligibility) with ACVP or ECVP
- Candidates working towards board certification are welcome

Working Pattern
Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm. Participation in a Saturday rota (frequency shared at interview).
