Job Description

Overview of the Judicial Office: The [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] (JO) reports to the Lady Chief Justice and supports the judiciary. The [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] within the JO is responsible for training Judicial Office Holders. The Digital Learning Service designs and delivers digital training interventions.

This role sits within the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] and reports to the Digital Learning Design and Delivery Manager. Hybrid working requires 60% office attendance at base location (Leeds, London, or Loughborough).

Responsibilities, Activities & Duties

  • Design, develop, deliver and maintain digital skills training interventions and resources using online, face-to-face and self-directed learning approaches.
  • Facilitate engaging digital skills sessions, webinars, demonstrations and workshops for judicial audiences.
  • Develop digital learning resources including presentations, guidance materials, e-learning content and digital assets.
  • Work with Course Directors, Training Leads, IT Liaison Judges, senior judiciary, HMCTS and [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] colleagues to identify learning needs.
  • Support Judicial Office Holders to build confidence in new and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools.
  • Ensure all learning products meet accessibility requirements and reflect inclusive digital learning design.
  • Contribute flexibly to wider Digital Learning Service activity including filming, editing and resource development.
  • Manage competing priorities and respond effectively to urgent training requirements.
  • Keep up to date with developments in digital learning practice and emerging technologies.

Essential Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Experience of designing and delivering digital skills training and learning resources in online and face-to-face environments.
  • Confidence in delivering training, demonstrations or presentations to groups and explaining digital concepts to non-specialist audiences.
  • High level of digital literacy and confidence using Microsoft 365 and Teams.
  • Ability to support users to build confidence in digital working and adapt to new technologies, including AI-enabled tools.
  • Ability to develop clear, engaging and accessible digital learning materials.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Ability to manage competing demands and work at pace.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Understanding of accessibility and inclusive practice in digital learning.

Desirable Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Experience of creating e-learning content using Articulate Rise or similar.
  • Experience designing or delivering learning relating to Microsoft 365, Copilot Chat or AI-enabled tools.
  • Experience of filming, editing or supporting video content using Final Cut Pro or similar.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles.
  • Experience of working with Judicial Office Holders or knowledge of the judiciary.
