Free Church Ordained Chaplain (Part-time)
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] (HMP Huntercombe) seeks a part-time Free Church Ordained Chaplain to provide pastoral and spiritual care in a prison setting. This is a 9-hour per week role based in Henley-on-Thames.
- Salary: £36,151 - £37,887 Pro-rata
- Part-time: 9 hours/week (1 day + 1 Sunday morning per month)
- Location: Henley-on-Thames

Job Description
The job holder will work with colleagues to ensure delivery of PSI 05/2016 Faith and Pastoral Care for Prisoners and contribute to broader chaplaincy work, including faith and non-faith-based courses. They will provide guidance on their faith/belief system, plan and lead worship, facilitate religious programmes, offer pastoral care, and support volunteer coordination.
Responsibilities
- Provide faith guidance, pastoral care, and spiritual welfare to prisoners, staff, and families
- Plan and lead worship/meditation, prayer, and faith-specific meetings
- Facilitate religious programmes and work collaboratively with chaplains, volunteers, and external groups
- Contribute to local policy, procedures, and practice
- Provide mentoring and support for chaplains and volunteers, including after incidents
- Support the ACCT (Assessment, Care in Custody and Teamwork) process
- Attend relevant boards/meetings and represent chaplaincy
- Forge links with local faith communities and agencies
Working Arrangements
