Supporting data-driven decision-making across the organisation, the position sits in a well-established finance function striving to go from good to great via reporting and process transformation. Suiting a self-starter, this role will explore and understand our systems and provide immediate impact through the design and development of high-quality Power BI reports whilst helping to imbed a self-sufficient reporting culture. It is an exciting opportunity to provide an efficient and effective management reporting service for the finance team and wider executive of the theatre. The role is offered on a one-year fixed-term contract, working 37.5 hours per week during normal office hours, with part-time working of 30 hours per week also considered. As this is a collaborative role, you’ll be based on-site at the Theatre in Southampton, working closely with colleagues in a vibrant and supportive environment.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Power BI that deliver timely, accurate and accessible insights.
  • Identify improvements to financial processes and reporting
  • Use your skills to integrate data from multiple sources to support effective reporting
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of data, applying best practice in data modelling and DAX
  • Work across a range of systems including Microsoft 365, Business Central/Dynamics 365, retail and ticketing systems
  • Develop and maintain clear documentation for dashboards, reports and processes
  • Train and support end-users to get the most value from reports and dashboards

Essential Qualities

  • A minimum of two years’ recent experience in a data, reporting, BI or analytics-focused role with comparable responsibilities.
  • Strong experience building and maintaining Power BI dashboards, including the use of DAX formulas.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Experience of analysing data to identify issues, trends or insights, and producing accurate outputs that inform decisions.
  • Excellent Excel skills (intermediate level minimum)
  • Project Management skills of managing work from initial requirement through development to delivery, including planning and prioritisation.
  • Practical experience using Microsoft 365 Power Apps and working with Business Central and/or Dynamics 365.
  • Experience working with data from multiple systems and understanding data flows or integrations.

Desirable Qualities

  • Good understanding of finance and how reporting supports key processes and decision making
  • Confident communicator dealing with a range of stakeholders, who can listen, influence and challenge respectfully.
  • Evidence of maintaining organised, efficient systems and improving administrative and reporting processes.
  • Well organised, proactive and keen to continually improve processes and learn new technologies
