Salary: From £37,124 per annum

Main Role

The PSHE/RSE teacher will work within the Wellbeing team across the age range of the school to prepare, develop and teach clearly structured lessons, liaise with primary schools, collaborate with colleagues, and lead the PSHE/RSE committee. The teacher will also undertake level 3 safeguarding training and be part of the Safeguarding team.

Main Tasks

  • Set challenging teaching and learning objectives relevant to all pupils.
  • Plan lessons and sequences showing assessment of learning/progress.
  • Produce long, medium and short term planning in accordance with school policy.
  • Select and prepare resources considering pupils' interests and needs.
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all ability ranges.
  • Monitor and assess effectiveness of learning activities and provide feedback.
  • Ensure curriculum coverage, continuity and progression.
  • Develop strategies for cross-curricular delivery and keep up to date with national developments in PSHE/RSE.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers and staff.
  • Be proactive in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
  • Ensure behaviour management consistent with school rules.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Excellent understanding and experience of PSHE/RSE curriculum planning and delivery.
  • English speaker with at least a good understanding of French.
  • Experience of teaching in an international environment.
  • Proficiency in computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite etc.) and learning technology.
  • Committed approach to teamwork.
  • Professional curiosity and ability to reflect on practice.

Working Hours & Benefits

19 hours per week. Monthly gross salary from £37,124 per annum (incl. all allowance), employer contribution to private healthcare, 15% employer contribution to private pension.
