Conseiller(e) d'Information et d'Orientation

Start date: 1st September 2024 | Salary: £26,766.24 per annum (including bonuses)

General Missions

  • Orientation France: Post bac and return to France (Collège and Lycée)
  • Information relay on guidance for the educational community

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Individual and group counseling for students and families
  • Under the responsibility of the CIO coordinator and the management team, deliver orientation advice for secondary and higher education
  • Guide and support students with their Parcoursup applications
  • Support families returning to France via orientation procedures (Affelnet)
  • Design the orientation calendar with the CIO team
  • Create and deliver presentations for students and parents on pathways, careers, and post-bac courses
  • Contribute and coordinate the organization of the Higher Education Forum (2nde-Term) and Careers Forum (3eme) with the CIO team and parents’ association
  • Produce statistics and surveys: destinations of Terminale students, Parcoursup, etc.
  • Implement the orientation policy from 5ème to Terminale (parcours avenir, careers policy)

  • Ability to conduct orientation interviews
  • Communication and listening skills
  • Adaptability, responsiveness, and flexibility
  • Excellent knowledge of the French education system
  • Continuous updating of orientation knowledge
  • IT skills: Internet research, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
  • Perfect command of written and spoken French
  • English proficiency desired
  • Knowledge and respect of confidentiality and impartiality rules

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree
  • Training as a guidance counselor and/or significant experience in orientation

Conditions

1140 hours over 40 weeks, i.e., 28.50 hours per week, according to a schedule established with the Deputy Headteachers. This time will be annualized to account for uneven workloads during the year and includes one Saturday per year.

Salary: £26,766.24 per annum including bonuses. Employer contribution to private health insurance. 15% employer pension contribution. 60 days of annual leave.
