FULL DESCRIPTION

Programme Manager - Engineering

We are recruiting a highly motivated and ambitious Programme Manager who can manage our Engineering department. This is a great opportunity for someone who has a background in electronic and manufacturing engineering education and would like to move into a management role. We are keen to speak to anyone who is interested in progressing within their career who can work with us to grow our provision in line with the needs of the West Yorkshire economic region.

This role will support learners on Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQ's) alongside Level 4 engineering apprenticeships. The College is a national provider of education, skills, training and employability opportunities and has developed extensive provision which is not provided elsewhere through more traditional HEIs.

What You Will Do

  • Lead activities and strategies to ensure the success of the Engineering Department.
  • Line management of staff, setting targets and managing performance
  • Manage Strategies to ensure high retention, achievement, success and attendance rates are reached.
  • Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners
  • Manage the planning, preparation and development of schemes of work, teaching and learning resources and assessment plans.
  • Manage the recording of student progress and ensure that individual and group learner targets are being met.
  • Assess apprentices in the workplace against Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours in line with apprenticeship standards.
  • Maintain a commitment to research and scholarly activity in line with the expectations of the University Centre.

About You

  • Hold a L5 teaching qualification or equivalent
  • Degree in a relevant Engineering field
  • Hold Assessor and IQA qualifications (or willingness to work towards)
  • Extensive experience, knowledge and skills to manage delivery across the Engineering curriculum in both Electrical and Manufacturing disciplines.
  • Experience of positively managing student and group progression, advice and guidance to positive outcomes.
  • Experience of workplace assessment of learners
  • Experience of undertaking internal verification and moderation activities.
  • Proven commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Experience of supervising/managing staff to ensure high performance.
  • Experience of working with stakeholders and being influential in establishing effective partnerships.
