About Us
Successful businesses rely on a unique set of ideas and people. We help our clients protect and develop those vital assets, unlocking possibilities for future success.
From iconic brands and leading multinationals to pioneering start-ups, we are proud to work with a huge range of inspiring clients, helping them to turn their ideas into reality and get the best from - and for - their people.
Our people are not only exceptional at what they do, they also enjoy doing it and consistently give their best to a firm they're proud to be part of. This stems from our firm culture and our ethos of bravery and kindness. That ethos runs through everything we do, from our approach to recruitment, business practices, and DEI activities to the day-to-day environment in our office and our relationships with clients.
With an internationally minded team of more than 800 working across key areas of law – plus strategic partnerships around the world – we've got both the combination and calibre of legal experts it takes to enable our clients' businesses to thrive. Whether it is providing global employment law advice, managing a global IP portfolio or piecing together a multijurisdictional corporate transaction, we are able to have the right people, in the right place, at the right time.
About the Team
In an ever-changing world of work, the Worksphere team bridges the gap between legal advice and practical HR delivery, from providing people solutions and support, often on issues identified through our legal advice, helping to deliver strategic HR-led projects and initiatives. We are a team of HR, ER, reward and legal professionals who provide to clients a range of services, offer flexible support, and specialist expertise.
About the Role
This is a client-facing role that aims to support HR leaders and other senior stakeholders with their strategic goals, advising them how to build effective people-centred organisations and manage complex employee relations matters.
This is a genuinely exciting opportunity to play a central role in growing a dynamic consulting practice within one of the UK's leading employment law firms, working across a diverse and stimulating client base.
About You
The successful candidate will be a seasoned HR professional who brings a compelling combination of strategic thinking, technical depth and senior-level presence. You are likely to be an experienced Consultant with a strong track record spanning both strategic people advisory and complex ER casework, or a Senior Human Resources or Employee Relations Specialist and can demonstrate the client relationship skills that role demands.
You will need to be excellent at the strategic level; advising clients on how to build effective, people-centred organisations, as well as at the operational level of managing complex and sensitive employee relations matters with expertise and composure. Alongside this, you must have the confidence and capability to engage with senior stakeholders, including HR leaders, Legal Counsel and Executive teams. You will be expected to establish credibility quickly, manage competing priorities with composure, and deliver high-quality work within agreed scope and timescales.
An in-depth knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice is essential, as is a genuine understanding of what makes organisations effective and what it means to be a good employer in practice. International experience, across multiple jurisdictions, is highly desirable. Strong written and verbal communication skills are critical, as is the ability to produce clear, well-structured reports and advice under pressure.
You will need to be flexible in the nature of work that you take on. Engagements may range from short-term interventions to longer-term client secondments. You will be a collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced, professional environment, and who brings intellectual curiosity and commercial awareness to everything you do.
- Strong HR Consulting and Employee Relations experience.
- Proven achievements in advising on HR strategy and transformation will be considered as a great plus.
- Evidence of successful achievement of projects within defined budget and timescales.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, a consulting attitude and the skills required to excel in a client-facing role.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyse and synthesise information and data into valuable insights.
