About the role

As well as planning and preparing courses and lessons to an agreed syllabus, we will rely on you to teach each pupil according to their educational needs. You will be responsible for the setting and marking of work, including homework and examinations, and assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress and attainment of each pupil. Promoting each child's general progress and wellbeing will be important too, as will giving them guidance and advice on educational and social matters. Making records and reports on pupils' personal and social needs, communicating and consulting with parents and organising appropriate school trips – all are aspects of this exciting and rewarding role.

What we need from you:

With Qualified Teacher Status, a love or learning and evidence of continuing professional development, you have what it takes to truly engage and inspire children. You have a high degree of emotional intelligence and a proven ability to motivate, enthuse and drive forward individuals and groups to achieve successful outcomes. You also have strong knowledge of the benefits of technology in education, both academically and pastorally and relish the prospect of creating creative lessons. A good understanding of the requirements of KS2 is essential, as is the ability to prepare and plan for lessons. Developing teaching materials, teaching programmes, methods of teaching and assessment and pastoral arrangements – you will need to be able to do all this while taking into account the unique requirements of every child in your class. An appreciation of the whole school perspective on all matters and a clear understanding of and a commitment to the aims of an Independent day school showing flexibility and willingness to commit fully to the School during term time.
