Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent, 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Salary: £32,000-£35,000 per annum

Job Description

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Group (ILG), a growing group of independent preparatory schools and nurseries, is looking to recruit an experienced Nursery Manager at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] in Kingston, Surrey.

The School
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is a co-educational independent school for children aged 2-11 years, providing a broad, rich and balanced education. The school achieved Apple Distinguished School status in 2019.

What the role involves:

  • Promote high standards of quality within the nursery in respect of the environment, resources and experiences offered to children.
  • Ensure practice and provisions meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
  • Recruit, induct, support, train and appraise all staff.
  • Manage staff costs and budgets, produce management information.
  • Proactively represent the Company and advance its interests in the local community.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance, emergency procedures, and first aid cover.
  • Support all administrative duties including record keeping, ordering, and personnel records.

We're looking for:

  • Minimum 5 years post qualification experience in a childcare setting.
  • 3-5 years Nursery management experience.
  • Good GCSE results (A-C in English and Maths preferred).
  • Great passion for child development and good working knowledge of EYFS 0-5 years.
  • Excellent knowledge of Ofsted statutory guidance and child protection.
  • Strong communication, planning, and time management skills.
  • A sense of humour, common sense, and a “can do” attitude.
