This new role is an exciting opportunity to be part of the introduction and development of a new online learning platform within the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] to develop and manage online, hybrid and in-person training to enable our developing learning and development strategy. You will be part of the Vocations Team and will be at the forefront of the development, delivery and maintenance of the diocesan online learning platform. Liaising with the Ministry Learning & Development Lead and Vocations Director and supported by the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], you will create content and input information onto the learning platform, support users, give technical support and provide regular analysis of data.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

  • To work with the Ministry Learning & Development Lead and members of the Vocations Team to develop, curate, manage, develop and maintain the diocesan learning platform.
  • To assist the Ministry Learning & Development Lead as key liaison between staff and our external IT providers and to work collaboratively with the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal].
  • To liaise with learning platform users and analyse feedback.
  • Promoting and enabling use of the learning platform across the diocese (a dispersed network of volunteers, staff and officers).
  • Supporting and advising diocesan staff in developing and launching their own specialist content, within the learning framework.
  • You will be responsible for overseeing the development of the system and ensuring correct user pathways and permissions are in place via our Contact Management System. You will deliver excellent system administration, including the provision of technical support for initial setup, development and ongoing support for users of the learning platform throughout the diocese.
  • Performing the role of technical system administrator, managing the learning platform to help shape the way the learning platform is used to best serve the needs of users.
  • To oversee and work with [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] to ensure the development, functionality, maintenance, and upgrades of the diocesan learning platform, ensuring it meets the needs of learners and educators.
  • Working with people in the diocesan office and ministries around the diocese to source and create new content for the platform.
  • To act alongside and support the Vocations Team, as a key point of contact and liaison with our learning platform providers.
  • To attend regular team meetings as required.
  • To ensure compliance and security by implementing and maintaining security protocols for the learning platform and other associated platforms and ensuring that digital learning activities adhere to relevant policies and standards.
  • To provide data analysis and report to the Vocations Team, including generating reports on learner activity, engagement, and performance within the learning platform to inform future development and improvements.
  • To liaise closely with the Communications Team in developing a strategy for engaging target users with the system and content, and to ensure diocesan branding is maintained.
  • Producing new online content and to assess and adapt resources shared by the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], e.g. video media, short courses in dialogue with key people to provide better learning support to our parishes, clergy and volunteers.
  • To act as a liaison and conduit for all members of staff and external contacts in relation to our digital platform, communicating clearly and in a language different audiences can understand.
