[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] delivers swimming lessons and training to Senior and Prep students. In addition, [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] has its own swim school, [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Swim School, and a competitive swimming club, [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Swimming Club. [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] also provides lessons for schools in the local community, and the pool is often hired out for community use.

The Appointment

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Swim School is seeking dedicated and experienced Swimming Teachers to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering swimming lessons to students of various ages and skill levels, following the National Swim England curriculum, ensuring high-quality instruction in a safe and supportive environment. Safeguarding the well-being of our students is of utmost importance.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Deliver swimming lessons in accordance with the National Swim England curriculum.
  • Create engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans catering to individual needs.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment, implementing safety measures and safeguarding policies.
  • Conduct regular assessments and provide constructive feedback to students.
  • Issue swimming badges and certificates.
  • Collaborate with the Swim School Manager and Swimming Pool Manager.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Set up before lessons, check equipment, and ensure poolside is clean and tidy afterwards.

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Valid Swimming Teacher qualification recognised by Swim England or the STA.
  • Experience delivering swimming lessons to students of varying ages and abilities.
  • Strong understanding of the Swim England curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Desirable

  • Valid lifeguard qualification.
