We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic salaried GP to join our team for 4 sessions a week.

Main duties of the job

We are a friendly, supportive and well-established practice which achieves excellent QOF results. We are a patient-focused medical practice dedicated to providing high-quality primary care to our local community. We currently have five established partners and four salaried GPs working alongside our practice nurses, paramedics, pharmacists, physios, social prescribers and mental health hub within the Primary Care Network group. We are a training practice for undergraduates and GP trainees. We offer family planning, minor surgery and joint injections. You will provide comprehensive medical services, contribute to chronic disease management, participate in clinical meetings and quality improvement initiatives, manage your own workload, home visits, duty and prescription review on a rota basis. We use SystmOne clinical system. We welcome New to practice fellowships.

Job responsibilities

  • Delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
  • Provision of services commensurate with primary care contract
  • Clinically examine and assess patient needs, plan clinical care accordingly, refer to other services
  • Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
  • Prioritise health problems and intervene in complex, urgent or emergency situations
  • Effective management of long-term conditions
  • Support patients in health promotion and self-care
  • Processing administration including referrals, repeat prescriptions
  • Review medications following policies and guidelines
  • Maintain accurate clinical records
  • Work collaboratively, accept equal share of workload
  • Adhere to best practice through clinical guidelines and audit
  • Support delivery of anticipatory care plans
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and quality initiatives
  • Accept delegated responsibility for specific areas or QOF
  • Attend practice meetings
  • Contribute to clinical governance and training
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding legislation
  • Comply with appraisal process and revalidation
  • Commit to self-learning and continuing professional development
  • Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies
  • Encourage collaborative working and culture of continuous improvement
  • Be integral part of general practice team and wider network
  • Carry out other tasks as required
