Job Description

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is a well-established, friendly, flexible and responsive surgery serving around 8500 patients in the coastal town of Penzance, West Cornwall. We are situated just off the A30 with good links to St Ives, Truro and Falmouth and a great choice of excellent schools, housing and local facilities nearby with many beautiful beaches and coastal walks on our doorstep to support the outdoor life.

We are looking for a Salaried GP to join our team. We think this is a great place to be a GP. Could you be the right motivated, enthusiastic and committed doctor to join our motivated Practice Team as we develop?

Practice Information

  • List size 8500 – 1 GP Partners, 1 Advanced Nurse Partner, 3 Salaried GPs
  • AIC Team – 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, two HCAs, 1 dressings nurse, 2 practice nurses dealing with long term conditions
  • Total total system in place since 2024 using AccuRx
  • Member of the West Penwith PCN
  • CQC Rating – Good
  • Supporting ARRS roles attached to the practice include: Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, First Contact Physio, Social Prescribing Link Worker, Mental Health Hub Team and Health and Wellbeing Coach

Key Responsibilities

  • You will have your own patient list.
  • Provide high-quality clinical care to patients, including consultations, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring continuity of care and effective management of chronic conditions.
  • Participate in practice meetings and contribute to the development of practice policies and procedures.
  • Engage in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external healthcare providers to ensure integrated care for patients.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with practice protocols and data protection regulations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and inclusion on the NHS Performers List.
  • MRCGP or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent clinical skills and a commitment to providing patient-centred care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and participation in clinical audits and quality improvement activities.
