Production Planner / Production Planning Administrator

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is recruiting for a Production Planning Administrator based in Thorne, near Doncaster. This is a permanent, full-time role with a salary of £31,200 – £33,150 per annum.

The Role

As a Production Planning Administrator, you’ll play a key part in ensuring that customer orders are scheduled accurately and efficiently, while keeping our machines running at their best. You’ll juggle deadlines, machine capabilities, stock levels, and changing priorities – all while staying composed and focused.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effective Scheduling & Planning
    • Create and manage daily and weekly production plans.
    • Ensure jobs are sequenced correctly for efficiency, quality, and minimal downtime.
    • Work closely with production, sales, and customer service teams to adapt plans as priorities shift.
  • Customer Service & Delivery Performance
    • Monitor order progress and support high service levels.
    • Flag issues early and help keep communication clear and proactive.
  • Data & Accuracy
    • Maintain precise planning data and ensure systems reflect real-time status.
    • Review job tickets, specs, and machine capabilities to avoid errors.
  • Problem Solving & Resilience
    • Respond calmly when challenges arise – machine breakdowns, urgent orders, last‑minute changes.
    • Help find practical solutions that keep production on track.

What They Are Looking For

  • Experience in production planning or scheduling (manufacturing or corrugated is a bonus).
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Calm, steady, and reliable under pressure – able to prioritise and adapt quickly.
  • Comfortable working with data, production systems, and fast-moving information.
  • A team player who communicates clearly and works well across departments.

Salary & Shift

£31,200 – £33,150 per annum. Monday – Friday 9am-5pm.
