IBAT Biodiversity and Business Lead

Background
The Integrated Biodiversity Assessment Tool (IBAT) is a collaboration between four conservation organisations: [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], and the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]. The IBAT Secretariat is headquartered in the David Attenborough Building in central Cambridge. This role is hosted by [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] and will sit within [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s Business and Nature Team, part of the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] secretariat.
Job Description
The Biodiversity and Business Lead is the senior expert within [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] on biodiversity application to business practice. This role drives integration of scientific rigour into the product, guiding development of tools for corporate users. Key responsibilities include:
- Strategic product direction for biodiversity-related tools
- Engagement with regulatory frameworks (TNFD, CSRD, SBTN, NPI)
- Guiding marketing, sales, and customer success teams
- Interface with IBAT Alliance Partners
- Representing [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] globally at events and working groups
- Line management of the Product Team
- Acting as Deputy to the Managing Director
Requirements
- Master's degree in Biodiversity, Biology, Ecology, or related field
- 8-10 years professional experience in biodiversity consulting or industry
- Technical understanding of TNFD, CSRD, ESRS, SBTN, GRI, EUDR
- Robust understanding of key biodiversity datasets (IUCN Red List, etc.)
- Experienced people manager
- Exceptional English communication skills; French/Spanish desired
Salary
The minimum gross annual salary is GBP 64'928.
