Vehicle Technician

Job Description

We are looking for a Vehicle Technician to join [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Vauxhall at Whitehills Business Park, Blackpool. You will carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance of vehicles, use diagnostic equipment, and ensure high standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance of vehicles
  • Inspecting vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues
  • Use computer-based diagnostic equipment
  • Repairing or replacing broken/defective parts and resolving defects
  • Road testing vehicles to check repairs
  • Maintaining equipment and making sure tools are in good condition
  • Following checklists to ensure all procedures are completed
  • Completing all documentation to the required standard
  • Carrying out MOT vehicle testing (if authorised)

Requirements

  • Level 3 Certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
  • Solid work experience in the automotive industry
  • Ability to work in a competent and efficient manner
  • Team player and able to work on own initiative
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to carry out work to high standards to deadlines
  • Proactive and enthusiastic approach
  • MOT Licence (not essential)
  • Full UK driving license (essential)

Salary & Benefits

Basic salary £40,000 – £50,000 (depending on experience). PLUS earn up to £9,000 every three years in performance-based bonuses. Overtime paid at time and a half. Benefits include: 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), flexible hours, toolbox cover, training for EV accreditation, generous employee discounts, yearly salary reviews, private healthcare, sick-pay cover, maternity and paternity packages.

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday 8:00am-5:30pm, Friday 8:00am-4:30pm, Saturday morning on a rota.
