[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Ltd (ISL) is recruiting an experienced Assistant Registered Manager to support the leadership of our 24-hour supported living service in Tranmere, Birkenhead. Our service supports 20 adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in self-contained apartments enhanced with assistive technology. We are committed to empowering people to live independently, confidently and safely within their community. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced care professional ready to step into a senior leadership role within a CQC-regulated supported living service.

About the Role

As Assistant Registered Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in ensuring the service delivers safe, high-quality, person-centred support in line with CQC requirements and commissioner expectations. You will provide day-to-day operational leadership, supervise staff teams, and ensure individuals receive outcome-focused support that maximises independence and opportunity. This role requires flexibility to work days and nights as required, plus participation in an on-call rota (paid).

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Staff Management: Line manage and supervise staff to deliver excellent, person-centred care; support absence management and address performance concerns; plan and organise rotas to meet commissioner contract requirements; mentor and develop staff, promoting a positive team culture.
  • Quality, Compliance & Safeguarding: Ensure compliance with CQC standards and Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs); oversee safeguarding processes and reporting requirements; ensure all support plans and risk assessments are current and high quality; support contract monitoring, KPI reporting and performance reviews; maintain health & safety compliance across the service.
  • Service Delivery & Development: Complete high-quality assessments and support planning; act as first point of contact for complaints and conflict resolution; work collaboratively with health and social care professionals; support innovation, service improvement and growth opportunities; provide hands-on support to individuals when required.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking a committed, person-centred leader with: Experience in a supported living or care environment; at least 1 year’s experience in an Assistant Manager or supervisory role; strong knowledge of CQC compliance and safeguarding legislation; excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills; confidence managing complex needs and behaviours; flexibility to work across a 7-day rota, including nights and on-call. Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities is highly desirable. Full induction training will be provided.
