Section Engineer (Sizewell C)

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is recruiting for a Section Engineer to work on large infrastructure schemes in East Anglia, initially on road projects in Harwich and Leiston. The role supports the construction process, managing setting out, quality assurance, and mentoring junior engineers. Ideal candidate has extensive setting out experience, proficiency with Leica/Geomax equipment and AutoCAD, leadership skills, and a full UK driving licence.

Initial Main Duties

  • Liaise with site management to complete quality take offs.
  • Develop awareness of potential commercial opportunities / issues.
  • Develop knowledge in hazard/risk assessments and method statements.
  • Carry out inspections and testing to ensure conformance with design.
  • Train, manage and mentor Junior Engineers.
  • Manage sectional setting out requirements on site.
  • Manage sectional service plans/drawings and issue permits.
  • Assist QS/Project Manager with records and claims.
  • Manage as built requirements and contribute to health and safety file.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental policies.

Requirements

  • Good and extensive setting out experience on infrastructure projects (highways, roads, earthworks).
  • Must be capable with Leica/Geomax equipment and transferring data from AutoCAD.
  • Good understanding of ITPs and quality assurance process.
  • Good leadership skills and understanding of construction practices.
  • Full UK driving licence essential; First Aid at Work desirable.
