Deputy Headteacher

Job Introduction

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Headteacher for our Great Howarth School in the Rochdale area (OL12). Great Howarth School is an independent specialist day school providing high-quality education for boys and girls aged 7-18 with complex needs including Speech, Language & Communication Needs (SLCN), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), ADHD and Autism.

Role Responsibilities

• Assist the Headteacher in the day-to-day running of the school.
• Implement effective policies and procedures to support high educational standards.
• Strategically oversee the school’s resources to support educational objectives.
• Collaborate with the headteacher to articulate and implement the school’s vision.
• Prioritise pupil achievement, safety, and well-being.
• Foster a culture of challenge and support to empower every student.
• Articulate and uphold high expectations for the entire school community.
• Exemplify the school’s values consistently.

Minimum Requirements

• QTS or QTLS Qualification
• Similar SLT experience in an SEN environment
• Up to date OFSTED and knowledge of the SEN education sector
• Up to date safeguarding and child protection qualifications/knowledge and experience
