Location: The Wellington Hospital, London | Hours: Permanent, Full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm | Salary: Competitive + allowances
At [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced nurse or ODP with experience within the Theatres department to work as a Clinical Practice Facilitator at The Wellington Hospital and Corporate.
Job Overview
The Clinical Practice Facilitator is responsible for developing ODP and nursing practice and supporting the professional development of ODP and nursing staff across the facility. This includes the inpatient and outpatients’ departments on all campuses. This will involve working closely with the Theatres teams to ensure a multi faceted approach to education and training and developing individual learning plans with staff, acting as a mentor and role model to ODP and nursing staff using evidenced based best practices to ensure highest level of nursing standards are upheld.
What You Will Do
- Support the Theatre Managers in identifying, developing, and reviewing training needs, ensuring ODP and nursing staff are competent, confident, and fit for practice in line with NMC standards.
- Promote a positive learning culture that encourages continual professional development and enhances clinical nursing skills.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of education and training programmes aligned to service needs.
- Act as a clinical role model and support nurses in practice.
- Analyse, support, and implement evidence‑based practice, ensuring clinical policies are effectively implemented.
- Recognise and support staff development needs, including addressing capability concerns.
- Participate in the development of clinical supervision for all ODP and nursing staff.
- Maintain and monitor registers for Safe Blood Transfusion competencies and mentors in line with NMC and HCPC guidelines.
- Interpret national guidelines and safety alerts, supporting their implementation.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, Education or other clinical related field.
- Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner
- HCPC Registration or NMC Registration / Pin
- 3+ years of experience in clinical education
- 3+ years’ experience in nursing specialty in an acute care hospital.
- Valid BLS certificate (Essential)
- CIPD or Learning Development qualifications (Essential)
