The Role & Responsibilities

We are looking for a Regional Director who can lead, inspire, and drive high-performing teams, delivering best-in-class engineering and business outcomes across the region. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping the strategic direction of the office, ensuring strong commercial performance, and maintaining excellence in project delivery.

As a Regional Director with [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], you will bring a strong understanding of both the technical and commercial aspects of the business, with the ability to translate company strategy into clear, actionable plans. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage key client relationships, and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across all projects.

Strategy & Business Planning

  • Develop leadership business strategies with the Leadership team to achieve company sales KPI and target sectors
  • Translate company strategy into a clear office-level business plan with defined revenue, margin, and performance targets
  • Develop and manage the business plans for relevant business pillars (HR, Marketing, Operations, Finances, Sales, Digital process etc)
  • Drive delivery of [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]’s strategic growth pillars within the office (Operational Excellence, Energy Consulting, Technical Advisory, Recurring Revenue, Acquisitions)
  • Support integration of new teams or acquisitions where relevant, ensuring alignment with [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] standards and culture
  • Actively collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team and peer Regional Directors on cross-office resource sharing, group-level initiatives and the firm-wide Operational Excellence programme.

Client & Commercial Growth

  • Manage key accounts and execute key account management strategies as agreed with executive leadership team
  • Develop and grow key client relationships, identifying opportunities for repeat business and cross-selling of services

Project Delivery & Operational Excellence

  • Manage project delivery teams including project performance, employee performance management and client retention
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across all projects, embedding QA/QC, risk management, and operational discipline
  • Manage and problem solve project delivery issues during construction stage of projects
  • Continuously improve operational workflow, working with other managers across the business
  • Drive implementation of operational excellence initiatives, including standardised workflows, systems, and reporting discipline
  • Manage own delivery team ideally from project delivery perspective
  • Own capacity planning for the office — forecasting resource requirements against the project pipeline and raising gaps or surpluses to Group Operations in advance.

Office Performance & Accountability

  • Own and deliver the performance of the office, including accountability for revenue, margin, utilisation, and delivery outcomes
  • Use data and systems (ERP, dashboards) to monitor performance, improve forecasting, and drive accountability
  • Ensure strong governance, risk management, and decision-making discipline across all activities

People Leadership & Capability

  • Build and lead a high-performing team, including development of future leaders and succession planning within the office
  • Oversee the day-to-day activity of the business including general operations and staff performance & development management
  • Provide clear leadership and accountability for office performance, culture, and standards
  • Provide coaching and mentoring for senior staff, Associate Directors other key team members)
  • Strengthen leadership capability within the office, ensuring alignment with [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]’s growth and performance expectations

Digital & BIM Coordination

  • Take accountability for BIM coordination on local office projects, working with the BIM/Digital function to ensure ISO 19650 compliance and [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s digital delivery standards are met on every project.

Education & Experience

  • Honours degree in a relevant engineering discipline
  • MBA or postgraduate qualification in Strategic Management or Project Management desirable
  • Minimum 6+ years’ experience in engineering (technical) roles
  • Minimum 4+ years’ experience in team management
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in strategic or corporate management
  • Proven experience with accountability for business unit or office-level performance, including revenue, margin, and delivery outcomes

Knowledge & Skills

  • Expert Engineering / design knowledge, including creating technical procedures, technical assessments & QA
  • Proven track record with successfully leading and delivering MEP projects from concept to hand-over
  • Sets and executes clear goals and priorities. Agile when required, manages multiple projects of varying scales and stages with ease
  • Excellent judgement, strategic thinking and decision making and execution in complex, ambiguous situations
  • Builds strong, lasting relationships with clients and stakeholders, gather and act on client feedback and market intelligence
  • Uses effective communication and interpersonal skills to build sound client relationships, drive a culture of feedback, empowering team members
