Data Migration Lead - Data Transformation - London
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Global is supporting a major transformation programme within the media sector, focused on the evolution of a large media organisation as part of a wider data‑driven transformation. We are seeking an experienced Data Migration Lead to support the design and execution of data migration activity across critical systems and platforms.

What you will be doing
- Analyse source and target data structures to understand differences, dependencies and risks
- Define and document data mapping, transformation and reconciliation rules
- Support the Business Architect in performing detailed data analysis to inform migration design
- Identify data quality issues and support the definition and execution of data cleansing and remediation plans
- Contribute to the definition of the overall data migration approach, including sequencing, dependency management and cutover considerations
- Produce clear migration specifications, validation rules and test data to support delivery and testing
- Support data migration testing activities, including reconciliation, issue investigation and resolution
- Assist in specifying data reporting and data quality requirements for migration and post‑migration states
- Provide input into operational data ownership, controls and post‑migration monitoring arrangements
- Work within programme governance structures, supporting mobilisation and ongoing delivery
What we are looking for
- Strong experience working as a Data Migration Lead or similar role on complex transformation programmes
- Proven experience analysing source and target data models and supporting migration design
- Hands‑on experience defining data mappings, transformation logic and reconciliation rules
- Experience identifying and addressing data quality issues within large or complex datasets
- Practical involvement in data migration testing, validation and issue resolution
- Understanding of migration sequencing, cutover planning and deployment considerations
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate effectively with architects, delivery teams and business stakeholders
- Comfortable operating in environments with multiple systems, datasets and dependencies
- Experience contributing to data‑led or platform‑based transformation initiatives
- UK‑based and able to travel onsite 1 to 2 days per week
- Experience working on large‑scale data transformation or system replacement programmes
- Exposure to data governance, data ownership or post‑migration monitoring models
Nice to haves
- Background in media, rights management or related creative industries
- Experience operating within consultancy‑led or multi‑supplier delivery environments
